How we compare with Meetup Import

Meetup Import, also listed as Import Meetup Events, is a broad, established plugin. When this table says Pro for that product, it means their paid WordPress plugin add-on, not Meetup.com Pro. FAQ

Can I use the plugin for free?

Yes. The free plugin supports one Meetup group, manual future-event imports, event pages, shortcode layouts, widgets, privacy settings, JSON-LD from imported data, and calendar metadata bridges.

Is Pro a subscription or a lock-in?

It is a small yearly update subscription. If you do not renew, your installed Pro features keep working; you only miss updates while inactive.

Is this the same as Meetup.com Pro?

No. HT Event Importer Pro is our WordPress plugin add-on. Meetup.com organizer subscriptions are separate and are paid to Meetup, not to us.

Why import events into WordPress instead of just embedding Meetup?

Imported posts give you ownership of your event pages, better SEO options, theme integration, structured data, internal links, categories, and control over what details are public.

Does it expose attendee names?

No. The plugin is intentionally privacy-focused and does not display attendee names or organizer names.

Does it support Google Event schema?

Yes. The free plugin outputs schema.org Event JSON-LD from imported Meetup data. Pro adds configurable organizer, performer, pricing, group, and event overrides.

What if Meetup hides some event data?

Meetup may limit venue, address, coordinates, or other details depending on privacy and public access. The Pro Chrome extension connector can help administrators import authenticated session data when appropriate.

Which event plugins does it work with?

It syncs common metadata for The Events Calendar, Events Manager, and GatherPress when those plugins are installed.

Can I translate this page?

Yes. The landing page copy is separated into language files so additional locales can be added without rewriting the layout.
